    Title:
    CHARGING ERROR 3
    Summary:
Charging Error 3 - Is it a common issue?
    Content:

Just went to use my Roomba for about the 10th time since August 15th, 2011 and I am getting the dreaded charging error 3. The Roomba was a gift and I have no receipt. I contacted IRobot and although they walked me through all the steps of testing it, including removing the battery / bending up the Tabs. Resetting and charging the battery for a 16 Hour Cycle and various other steps. They concluded I needed to have it replaced. I am unsure why it does not just need a part but they went on to explain it is not something that can be fixed. I was saddened to learn that because I have no receipt and I would feel awkward asking my GIFT GIVER for one that I must purchase the replacement unit for in excess of $100. I am not in posistion to put out that kind of money and dont quite understand how a product that probably has a $2.00 failed component is now in a catastrophic state of repair. Now I am left with a big dilema. If anyone knows of a fix please help - I am frustrated beyond belief !!!!

     Hi Randy,

I'm sorry to hear that your Roomba's charging error was not corrected through the troubleshooting steps provided. Generally all it would take is a reset of the Roomba and sometimes a Refresh Charge. In this case however, the Roomba would need to be replaced, as the issue is internal and is not something that could be repaired by us sending you a part.

Please send me a private message with your email address and/or reference number to your support call or ticket so that I can look into this further for you. If you received your Roomba in August 2011 it may still be under warranty.

I look forward to hearing from you.
